In the summer of 1991, Joan Fairfax opened Chez Monet, a
delightful coffee and bakery shop on High Street in historic downtown Jefferson City. She served breakfast pastries, Gourmet coffee, and a tasty variety of deli fare for lunch. After 22 tireless years of serving breakfast and lunch, baking and decorating up to 50 cakes on the weekends, catering for all occasions, and smiling all the while, it was finally time for her to set a pace more suited for her new role as a grandmother. On June 20th, 2013 the city's final inspections were completed and Chez Monet Patisserie was born. The disassembly of Chez Monet at 126 East High Street was completed on June 30, 2013. July 1, 2013 the legendary ovens were again fired up at 515 Mulberry Street to bake all of your scrumptious confections and catering. She hasn't missed a step in the transition, and hasn't missed the daily duties of running a retail location. Joan is an amazing cake decorating perfectionist and her persistence for perfection is second to none. Call to make an appointment or to order your custom made favorites. She will still greet you with her infectious smile and warm heart. |
